Solutions
Register computers, game consoles, PDAs, and other networked devices. Check computers for up-to-date OS patches, anti-virus and anti-spyware protection, and restricted applications such as P2P. Allow users to remediate any compliance issues without having to engage IT staff. Add access security to your wireless deployments. Track all network access and usage. Broadcast important messages and emergency notifications instantaneously to all network users.
Secure Your Campus Network While Simplifying IT Administration
You’ve installed wired and wireless network connectivity to your campus residence halls and throughout the academic and administration buildings to ensure anywhere, anytime access to students, faculty, staff, and other users. Like most campus IT organizations, you’ve managed to accomplish this with a very limited staff. Now how do you effectively secure and manage your state-of-the-art campus network while still having time to do your “day job”?
Securing network access for a diverse set of student, faculty, staff, and other users with all their networked devices – Windows, Mac, and Linux computers, gaming consoles, smart phones, the list goes on – can be a daunting challenge for even the most highly-staffed IT organizations. How do you ensure only authorized users are accessing network resources? That only known (registered) devices are connecting? That computers on the network comply with your security policies?
Bradford Networks' Campus Manager solution set provides you with complete visibility and control of all users and devices on your campus network to prevent unauthorized access and keep your network secure. Campus Manager registers and authenticates all users and their associated devices, monitors their access and network usage, and dynamically provisions role-based policies to ensure that users access only the resources they should.
Campus Manager automates enforcement of your established endpoint security policies to ensure compliance and to isolate any non-compliant devices from the network. Of course, if users’ computers are simply blocked from the network without explanation, this will only lead to a flood of calls to the help desk. So Campus Manager takes things a step further to inform users why their network access has been restricted, while providing them with instructions and limited network access to correct policy compliance issues themselves without engaging IT staff.
Maximize Your Existing IT Security Investments
No doubt you have already deployed other security solutions to protect your network resources, with investments in IDS/IPS, firewalls, packetshapers, and other solutions. Campus Manager even helps you get more out of these investments through extensive third-party integration.
Say your IDS has detected a threat on the network coming from IP address 192.168.22.34. But what device is using this IP address? Who is the user? Where are they located? How can you stop the threat at its source?
With just a source IP address provided by your IDS, Campus Manager can correlate the associated endpoint device, its user, and its location on the network. What’s more, Campus Manager can also dynamically quarantine the device right at the switch port or wireless controller to eliminate the threat from the network.
Similar integration is possible with wide range of third-party security systems – essentially any system that can communicate with Campus Manager via standard SNMP traps and syslog messages.
